Bland-Kirby

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Severance of Franklin, W.Va., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Amber D. Bland, to Earl R. Kirby, son of Charles and Anna Kirby of Morgantown, W.Va.

A May 9 wedding is planned.

DeSear-Clarke

Mr. and Mrs. Robert DeSear of Woodstock have announced the engagement of their daughter, Kathleen, to Brian D. Clarke, son of Jerry Clarke of Winchester.

Miss DeSear, a 2002 graduate of Central High School, earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from James Madison University in 2007. She is an assets protection executive at Target.

Mr. Clarke, a 1999 graduate of James Wood High School, is a member of the U.S. Army National Guard. He is employed by SRA International and the Federal Aviation Administration as a senior network engineer.

A summer wedding is planned.

Davis-Knave

Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Davis of Augusta, W.Va., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Michelle Lynn, to Willie Vernon Knave, son of Vallie Knave of Bloomington, Ill., and the late Douglas Knave.

A May wedding is planned.

Foltz-Daniel

Terry and Sharon Foltz of Edinburg have announced the engagement of their daughter, Crystal, to Andrew Daniel, son of Bobby and Nancy Daniel of Iron Gate.

Miss Foltz, a 2000 graduate of Central High School, is a student at the University of Phoenix and is employed by Lord Fairfax Community College.

Mr. Daniel, a student at Northern Virginia Community College, is an investigator at the Virginia Department of Health's office of emergency medical services.
