Patricia Spencer and Tony Hatfield Jr. of Front Royal have announced the birth of a son, Bryce Paul Hatfield, on March 2 at Warren Memorial Hospital.

Grandparents are Lena and Daniel Bowden and Melissa and John Blansett, all of Front Royal.

Chasity Haffer and Charles Burner of Front Royal have announced the birth of a daughter, Brooke MaKenna Burner, on Feb. 24 at Warren Memorial Hospital.

School news

The following local students were winners in the Randolph-Macon Academy science fair Feb. 20:

Sixth- and seventh-grade: Tyler Vaughan, first, biology; Angus Franklin, second, biology; and Matthew Duggan, second, physical science.

Eighth grade: Jessica Vaughn, second, biology; Jackson McGraw, second, physical science; and Tanner Blankenship, third, physical science.
