School news

Samuel Dowdy has been awarded a $9,000 directors scholarship from Ashland University.

A senior at Central High School, he is the son of Rev. Jonathan and Kathleen Dowdy of Woodstock.

The following 11th-graders at Central High School have been named to the A honor roll for the third grading period:

Garden club news

Terry Fogle of Fort Valley Nursery discussed tree planting and gave a tour of the nursery at the March 5 meeting of the Shenandoah Garden Club.

The club had lunch at the Woodstock Garden Cafe.
