Library news

The Woodstock Library will waive overdue fees for returned books April 11-18.

Red Cross news
The Shenandoah County chapter of the American Red Cross presented the following heroes awards March 31:
The Rev. Rodney Lebron and John Hollar, good Samaritan; Lona Susie Howard, community impact; and Sally Hupp, nurse.

School news
Phyllis A.H. Fleming was named a master adviser by the Virginia Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.
She teaches at Peter Muhlenberg Middle School.
The chapter attained the a silver level.

Mt. Jackson
Christina and Christopher Ross of Mt. Jackson have announced the birth of a daughter, Crystal Nickel, on March 12 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital.
Grandparents are Nancy and Chuck Campbell of Mt. Jackson, Nettie Dispanet of New Market and Dwaine Ross of Elkton.

Food donations
The Mt. Jackson branch of First Bank is collecting nonperishable food items for the food pantry during April.
