Thousands lined the streets of Winchester on Saturday, May 2, to watch the festival's Grand Feature Parade.

Firefighters' Parade

The annual Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival Firefighters' Parade, which took place under cloudy skies on Friday, May 1, was led by Grand Marshal Bo Bice. The recording artist is a former "American Idol" contestant. View a video interview with Bice in the player above.

Ashley Taylor Landon was crowned queen of the 82nd Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival at ceremonies held at Handley High School on Friday, May 1. Ashley, 17, received thunderous applause as she was escorted to the stage by her father, Michael Landon Jr., son of the late Michael Landon.

Celebrity press conference

Celebrities paused before the Firefighters' Parade to meet with the press. Videoclips from the press conference include singer Bo Bice, former Red Skins great Joe Jacoby, actor Erik Estrada and actor Jon Huertas. View the clips in the player above.

This year's Wal-Mart Bloomers' Luncheon drew a rowdy, ready-to-party crowd of women donned in pink and green, boas, gaudy hats and jewelry. They laughed, ate, drank and some got to kiss actor Erik Estrada. (Check out who got caught smooching with him in our video playerabove.) Other luncheons held on Friday included the Stag Luncheon, the Ladies Luncheon and the Mens Commonwealth Luncheon.

Apple Pie Baking Contest

Contestants in the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival Apple Pie Baking Contest, held Thursday at Marker-Miller Orchards Farm Market and Bakery in Frederick County, were paid a visit by some festival dignitaries. (View video of the event and its visitors in the video player above.)

Queen designate Ashley Landon and her court made a brief stop. They tasted some of the contestants' apple pies and posed for photos.

Mayor Michael Read of Winchester, England, and his wife also stopped by on their tour of the area.
