Nikki Romer, a photography major at Old Dominion University, has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester.
She is the daughter of Patti Romer of Front Royal.
Military news
Army Pvt. Joshua Hennis has graduated from basic training at Fort Benning, at Columbus, Ga.
He is the son of Debbie Hennis of Front Royal.
Girl Scout news
Sarah Schmidt and Katie Stephens earned the Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouts.
For their project they restored the Ash family cemetery on the Front Royal Golf Course.
Salvation Army
The Front Royal Salvation Army is accepting applications for its summer camp for ages 6-17.
