Front Royal

Jessica and Jeff Staples of Front Royal have announced the birth of a daughter, Ivey Jade, on May 26 at Warren Memorial Hospital.

Grandparents are Michael and Eva Challis of Front Royal.

College news

Tiffany Lynn Walker of Front Royal earned a bachelor's degree in pre-professional science from Ferrum College on May 2.

She was also named to the dean's list for the spring semester.

Christopher Anderson received an associate degree in general civil engineering from Shenandoah University on May 15. He was also named to the dean's list for the spring semester.

He is the son of Rick and Tina Anderson of Front Royal.

Austin McCarty Hazel, a junior at Hampden-Sydney College, has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester.

A graduate of Warren County High School, he is the son of Doug and Sara Hazel of Front Royal.

Military news

Marine Corps 2nd Lt. Robert B. Wilkins reported for naval aviator training at Naval Air Station Kingsville, Texas.

A 2003 graduate of Randolph-Macon Academy, he joined the Marine Corps in May 2007.

Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is seeking nonperishable food for its pantry.
