Army Spc. Jason A. Byrne graduated from One Station Unit Training at Fort Leonard Wood at Waynesville, Mo. The course included basic combat training and advanced individual training as a combat engineer.
The son of Jay Byrne and Lanita Byrne, both of Winchester, he graduated from Handley High School in 2004. He earned a bachelor's degree from Shenandoah University in 2008.
Berryville

Brittany E. Chandler has received an Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps college scholarship offer.
Upon graduation from college and completion of the ROTC program, she will receive a bachelor's degree and a commission of second lieutenant in the Air Force.
The daughter of James and Kim Chandler of Berryville, she is a 2009 graduate of Clarke County High School.
