School news
The American Municipal Power Co. of Ohio awarded its $2,000 Richard H. Gorsuch scholarship to Bernadette Sayre, a graduate of Warren County High School.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sayre of Front Royal, she plans to attend Lord Fairfax Community College.

Kristen Pence of Front Royal received a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.
Nicholas Bass earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from James Madison University. He was also named to the dean's list for the spring semester.
He is the son of Steve and Annette Bass of Front Royal.
Salvation Army
The Front Royal Salvation Army needs volunteers for its community center Mondays through Thursdays from noon to 5 p.m. Further information is available by calling 635-4020.
