Warren class of '39

Military news

Army National Guard Pvt. James S. Bell has graduated from Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning at Columbus, Ga.

The son of Susan Bell and grandson of Petsy Rudacille, both of Front Royal, he is a 2008 graduate of Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy.

Air National Guard Airman Amber M. Taylor graduated from military training at Lackland Air Force Base at San Antonio, Texas.

He is a 2004 graduate of Warren County High School.

College news

Caleb Gibson of Front Royal has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at the Virginia Military Institute.

Air Force Airman Alexander L. Miller graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base at San Antonio, Texas.

The son of Robert and Debra Miller of Luray, he is a 2007 graduate of Luray High School.

BB&T Center

The BB&T Center for the Performing Arts in Luray is accepting applications till Aug. 15 for the Shenandoah Valley acoustic roots festival and song-writing contest on Oct. 3.
