Brett Mather earned a master's degree in aerospace engineering at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and also was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.
A 2003 graduate of Central High School and a 2007 graduate of Virginia Tech, he is the son of Doug and Aleta Mather of Woodstock.
