School news
The Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office, Public Schools and Department of Social Services are collecting school supplies.
Needed are: 24-count crayons, glue sticks, scissors, No. 2 pencils, glue, 1-inch binders, pink erasers, spiral notebooks, highlighters, colored pencils, wide-rule loose-leaf paper, red ink pens, folders, pencil boxes, backpacks and pens.
Items may be left at a school bus at the Woodstock Wal-Mart on July 18 and Aug. 15 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Military news
Air Force Airman Justin C. Kebhart graduated with honors from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base at San Antonio, Texas.
The son of Anthony and Tabitha Kebhart of Woodstock, he is a 2005 graduate of Central High School.
