Chamber news

The Front Royal-Warren County Chamber of Commerce is seeking promotional items or donations for goodie bags to be given to new teachers at a reception on Aug. 13.

Football registration

The Front Royal Flames football team is accepting applications for a new football team for eighth- through 11th-grade boys who are home-schooled or in private school.

Practice will be held on Mondays at 5 p.m. at the Northern Virginia Educational 4-H Center.

Parks, rec news

The Warren County Parks and Recreation Department will offer a boat launch fee for $10 only after 2 p.m.

GOP news

The following members of the Warren County Teen Republican Committee attended the Leadership Institute's youth leadership school in Arlington July 25-26:

Krystal Heflin of Front Royal received a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies from Western Governors University.

Luray

Military news

Air Force Airman William K. Seal graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base at San Antonio, Texas.

The son of Billy Seal of Luray, he is a 2008 graduate of Dry Run Christian School.
