Neighborhood Notes: Shenandoah



Daniel "Opie" and Kristen Gregoire of Woodstock have announced the birth of a son, Hunner Stephen-Marcel, on July 28 at Winchester Medical Center.

Grandparents are Patricia Gochenour of Woodstock, Shelley Hall of Front Royal, Tonya Poe of Harrisonburg, Danny Gregoire and the late Terry Click.

Quota news

The Quota International chapter will distribute free ear plugs at the Shenandoah County Fair's tractor pull on Saturday and demolition derby on Monday and Tuesday.

Mt. Jackson

David and Mandy Lonas of Mt. Jackson have announced the birth of a daughter, Gracie McKinnley, on Aug. 7 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

Grandparents are Roy and Norma Foltz, Eddie and Jacki Phillips and Sidney and Velma Lonas, all of New Market. The great-grandmother is Nina Phillips of Mt. Jackson.


Military news

Air National Guard Airman Jacob I. Shifflett graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base at San Antonio, Texas.

The son of William and Lisa Shifflett of Edinburg, he is a 2007 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School.


Military news

Navy Seaman Joseph Luper completed U.S. Navy basic training at the Recruit Training Command at Great Lakes, Ill.

He is the son of Anne-Therese and Donald S. Luper of Maurertown.
