Class of '59

Quicksburg

School news

Hannah Cheng was named an AP scholar with distinction and Victoria Phillips an AP scholar.

Both are 2009 graduates of Stonewall Jackson High School.

New Market

Garden club news

Ginger Randell discussed making a flower garden and Ethel Garber gave fall gardening tips at the Sept. 21 meeting of the New Market Garden Club at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

The fall Shenandoah District meeting will be held Oct. 8 in Staunton.

Receiving blue ribbons were Ingrid Flowers for an artistic arrangement and five blue ribbons for horticulture; Dot Johnson, five; and Virginia Thompson for an African violet and three for horticulture.
