Army Reserve Spc. Charity E. Mercer has graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson at Columbia, S.C.
The daughter of Betty Sue Mercer of Fairmont, W.Va., and brother of Renay Hartman of Winchester, she is a 2006 graduate of Grafton (W.Va.) High School.
