Neighborhood notes: Winchester

Berryville

Military news
Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Jacob D. Bixler graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base at San Antonio, Texas.

The son of John Bixler of Berryville and grandson of Janie Fritzman of Fort Valley, he is a 2009 graduate of Clarke County High School.

Boyce

Military news
Air Force Airman Jeremiah Shipman graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base at San Antonio, Texas.

The son of Donna Shipman of Boyce, he is a 2009 graduate of Clarke County High School.

Winchester

Ashley Holliday and Bobby Haun Jr. of Martinsburg, W.Va., have announced the birth of a daughter, Mackenzie Brooke Haun, on Sept. 27 at Winchester Medical Center.

Grandparents are Martha Omps Miller, Wayne Miller, Kenny Holliday Jr. and Bobby Haun Sr., all of Winchester, and Carol Murphy of Martinsburg.

Stephens City

Salvation Army news
The Winchester Salvation Army will open a thrift store and donation center on Saturday at 10 a.m. at 124 Fairfax Pike in Stephens City.

The store will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
