Samuels Public Library has acquired the following fiction for young adults:

"Night Wings," Bruchac; "Pip," Kane; and "Franny Parker," McKinnon.

Military news

Air Force Airman Gene E. Meredith graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base at San Antonio, Texas.

The son of Greg Meredith of Shenandoah and Dawn Meredith of Stanley, he is a 2008 graduate of Page County High School.
