Army Pvt. Corey J. Caplinger has graduated from Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning at Columbus, Ga.

The son of Pamela Emmett of Woodstock, he is a 2007 graduate of Central High School.

Army Reserve Pvt. Dean A. Crider has graduated from basic training at Fort Sill at Lawton, Okla., under the Split-option Enlistment Program to serve as a member of the Army National Guard or Reserve.

A students at Stonewall Jacksin High School, he is the son of Kimberly Andrade of Mt. Jackson and the grandson of Patricia Small of Broadway.

Life Care Center

The Life Care Center in New Market is collecting shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child, sponsored by Franklin Graham and Samaritan's Purse.
