Military news
Air Force Airman Travis C. Carter graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base at San Antonio.
The son of Teddy Carter of and Angie Carter, both of Winchester, he is a 2008 graduate of Millbrook High School.

Air Force Airman Catherine N. Bousquet graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base at San Antonio.
The daughter of Mary Chong of Peoria, Ariz., and Dave Bousquet of Winchester, she is a 2007 graduate of Centennial High School, Peoria.

Salvation Army
The Salvation Army will accept applications for Christmas assistance on Monday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Applicants have been asked to provide picture IDs, Social Security cards, birth certificates, proof of income and children's clothing and shoe sizes.
