Air National Guard Airman Katie M. Young graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base at San Antonio, Texas.
She is the daughter of Billie Young of Winchester.
Army National Guard Pfc. Walter R. Whitt has graduated from One Station Unit Training at Fort Leonard Wood at Waynesville, Mo. The course included basic combat training and advanced individual training.
The son of Walter Whitt of Winchester, he is a 2006 graduate of Hargrave Military Academy.
Army Reserve Pvt. Joseph L. Dallackiesa has graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson at Columbia, S.C.
He is the son of Sharon Mathews of Romney, W.Va., and grandson of Don Garrett of Winchester. He graduated from Park View High School in 1995.
Charlie B. Shutt has received an Army Reserve Officer Training Corps four-year college scholarship to Virginia Military Institute.
He is the son of Lisa A. Shutt of Winchester.
