Stephanie Connelly of Winchester, a senior sociology and political science major at Virginia Tech, was presented the Hokie Memorial Marathon Scholarship.
Military news
Christopher P. Sullivan graduated from Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning at Columbus, Ga., and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
He is an infantry officer assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 11th Infantry Regiment at Fort Benning.
The son of Diane B. and Patrick M. Sullivan of Winchester, he is a 2002 graduate of Handley High School and earned a bachelor's degree in 2006 from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Military news
Marcus R. Norton graduated from the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps leader development and assessment course, also known as "Operation Warrior Forge," at Fort Lewis at Tacoma, Wash.
The son of John and Cindy L. Norton of Berryville, he is a 2002 graduate of Clarke County High School.
