Apple Blossom maids of honor announced


Four young women have been named maids of honor in the court of the queen of the 83rd Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, April 23-May 2.


Four young women have been named maids of honor in the court of the queen of the 83rd Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, April 23-May 2.

Cassie R. Huntsberry, daughter of Kathy and David Huntsberry and granddaughter of Getty Huntsberry, all of Winchester, is a sophomore at Bridgewater College, majoring in psychology. She is a graduate of Handley High School where she was a varsity cheerleader and a member of the competition cheer squad. Her father was president of the festival in 2001-2002.

Lindsey C. Lawler, daughter of Cathy and Robert Lawler Jr. of Winchester and granddaughter of Patricia and Irvin Painter and Anne Lawler, all of Luray, is a freshman at Lord Fairfax Community College, majoring in dental hygiene. She is a graduate of Handley High School and a member of the Braddock Street Methodist Church. She volunteers at the Free Medical Clinic and the festival.

B. Bentley "Bentie" Scully, daughter of Robin and Thomas Scully Jr. of Winchester and granddaughter of Clarence Wolfe, is a sophomore at Virginia Commonwealth University, majoring in journalism. She is a member of the college's Young Democrats. She is a graduate of Handley High School where she was president of the Young Democrats and a staff member of the Gavel. Her father is vice president and president-elect of the festival and her late grandmother, Beall Bentley Thomas Scully, was a maid of honor in 1937.

Natalie A. White, daughter of Elaine and Courtney White of Winchester and granddaughter of Bernice and Kenneth Henderson of Strasburg and Eugene White of Boyce, is a sophomore at Virginia Commonwealth University, majoring in mechanical engineering. She is a graduate of Handley High School.
