Shillingburg-Hodge Nancy Elaine Shillingburg and Bryan Keith Hodge were married Oct. 25 at the St. Luke Brethren Church at Woodstock. The bride is the daughter of Stephanie and Dennis Shillingburg of Woodstock. The groom is the son of Kathy and Rick Hodge of Timberville and Jessie Howard of Kentucky. The Rev. Anthony Keim performed the double-ring ceremony. Cindy Sherman was musician. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory gown with lace accents and carried a bouquet of fall flowers. The maid of honor was Dana Gochenour of Blacksburg. She wore a black and white dress and carried a bouquet of fall flowers. Bridesmaids were Rayna Cooper of Edinburg, Jennifer Shillingburg of Woodstock, sister-in-law of the bride, and Stephanie Oliveros of Harrisonburg, sister of the groom. They wore black and white dresses and carried bouquets of fall daisies. The groom's father was best man. Ushers were Coty Campbell of Timberville, cousin of the groom, Kevin Shillingburg of Woodstock, brother of the bride, and Luis Oliveros of Harrisonburg, brother-in-law of the groom. The flower girl was Rachel Coffman, cousin of the bride. Ring bearer was Shawn Shillingburg, nephew of the bride. A reception followed at Creekside Plain & Fancy in Edinburg. The bride is a 2004 graduate of Central High School. The groom is a graduate of Broadway High School. The couple are living in Edinburg. Gangwer-Vass Mary-Hope Gangwer and Evan Lewis Vass were married Nov. 7 at the Reformation Lutheran Church in New Market. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gangwer of Mt. Jackson. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Vass of Churchville. The Rev. Jeffrey Sonafelt performed the double-ring ceremony. Lynda Estep was musician. Given in marriage by her family, the bride wore a soft ivory strapless gown with a drop waist, asymmetrical bodice and full cathedral train. She wore a finger-tip veil and carried a bouquet of ivory calla lilies. The matron of honor was Amber Rinker of Mt. Jackson. She wore a tea-length chocolate taffeta gown and carried a bouquet of fall-colored calla lilies, berries and greenery. Bridesmaids were Kara Vass of State College, Pa., sister of the groom, Emma-Rose Kline of Harrisonburg, cousin of the bride, Nancy Miller of Edinburg and Margie Piotrowski and Michelle Waldon, both of Richmond. Their attire and flowers were identical to the honor attendant's. The best man was Micah Warnock of Harrisonburg. Ushers were Will Gangwer of New Market, brother of the bride, Nick Fox of State College, Drew Snyder of Livingston, Mont., Matt Hickey of Staunton and Chris Rinker of Mt. Jackson. The flower girl was Relce Hedrick. Ring bearers were Sam Richman and Jaden Click. A reception followed at the Elks Lodge in Harrisonburg. The bride, a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and Radford University, is employed by the city of Harrisonburg. The groom, a graduate of Buffalo Gap High School and James Madison University, is also employed by the city of Harrisonburg.
