College news
Thomas Artone of Front Royal earned a bachelor's degree in forestry from Virginia Tech during graduation ceremonies on Dec. 18.

Garden Club news
Janet Porter discussed one-stroke painting at the March 10 meeting of the Front Royal Garden Club.
The annual greening celebration will be held on May 29 at Chester House. Betty Oden and Adrienne Rogers won the raffle.
Ms. Oden won three blue ribbons for horticulture. Sandy Charles received a blue ribbon for her theme arrangement and Lorraine Hultquist and Judith Wordsworth awards for general arrangements.

Chase M. Beatty enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps under the delayed entry program at the Marine Corps Recruiting Station at Columbia, S.C.
He is a 2009 graduate of Randolph-Macon Academy.
