Strasburg
Card shower

A card shower is planned for Gladys Palmer, who will celebrate her 90th birthday on Nov. 20.
Her address is 341 Front Royal Road, Strasburg 22657.

The Signal Knob Middle School FFA was named a three-star chapter at the national FFA convention Oct. 20-23 in Indianapolis, Ind.
The agriscience mechanics team placed third in the Massanutten Federation. Team members were Gage Tefft, McKenzie Copeland, Nathan Hershey, Amelia Guthrie and Christian Plaugher.
The quiz bowl team placed first in the federation and will advance to state competition at Virginia Tech in June. Team members were Jason Weaver, Faith Ritenour, Miley Hupp, Hannah Orndorff and Bethany Gochenour. Weaver placed first and Ritenour third.

Edinburg
Card shower

A card shower is planned for Ollie Miller, who will celebrate her 95th birthday on Nov. 21.

Jesse Compton, a member of the Peter Muhlenberg Middle School FFA, earned a bronze pin in the agriscience fair at the FFA national convention Oct. 20-23 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Aaron Heishman, a member of the Central High School FFA, won the diversified livestock production entrepreneurship proficiency award at the FFA national convention Oct. 20-23 in Indianapolis, Ind.
He placed third in the agriscience student of the year competition.
The food science team earned a silver rating.
