WINCHESTER -- Members of the Apple Blossom Committee and organizations throughout the Winchester/Frederick County area will present a salute to U.S. troops in the Grand Feature Parade on May 5, according to a press release from the Disabled Veterans Committee on Housing in Winchester.

In last year's parade, the float included members from Able Forces Inc. and Disabled Veterans Committee on Housing. This year the float will welcome home the troops from Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Free Iraq and Operation New Dawn, and the float's name will be "Salute to the Troops," he release said.

Local soldiers who have served since September 11, 2001, are expected to ride on the float.
