Salute to veterans
Celebration of Spring: Salute to Our Veterans, an event to remember and recognize men and women in uniform, took place at Historic Jordan Springs on Saturday from 1 to 5:30 p.m. The U.S. Army "Pershing's Own" Blues & Jazz Ensemble offered a free concert, and a pig roast was part of the event.

The President's Joint Military Color Guard performed and Kathy Long was planned as a singer. Local officers and soldiers recently killed in the line of duty were recognized, including Zachary Whitacre from Gore, a fireman killed in action.
