The American Red Cross Greater Alleghenies Blood Services Region is sweetening its appeal for blood donors by having an ice cream raffle.
Donors will be entered into daily drawings for a year's supply of ice cream or an ice cream party pack, according to news release from the region, which is partnering with Galliker Dairy Company.
The region is still experiencing a donor blood emergency, with O negative, O positive, A negative and B negative especially needed, the release states.
The following drives are scheduled:
• 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the American Red Cross, 561 Fortress Drive, Winchester. Double red cells will also be collected.
• 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Mt. Jackson Moose Lodge, 244 Dutch Lane. Double red cells will be collected.
• noon to 6 p.m. First United Methodist Church, 308 N. Braddock St., Winchester. Double red cell collection.
• 1 to 7 p.m. American Red Cross, Winchester.
