Birth announcement
Shane and Diane Kirk welcomed a daughter Celia Raine Kirk on Aug. 17 at 6:48 a.m. Celia was born at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal. She weighed 10 pounds, 1 ounce and measured 21 inches. Her sister is Alexis Wood. Her grandparents are Randy and Susie Wertz, Patricia Vitullio and Herman Kirk. Her great-grandparents are Eddie and Nora Hockman and John and Carolyn Wertz.

School news
At a weekly assembly meeting on Sept. 19, students at Wakefield Country Day School pledged to abide by the School's Honor Code by signing statements of agreement with its tenets. The code applies to written schoolwork and tests that the students take, but it also covers personal behavior in all other areas of the School.

Senior Prefect Rachel DuMez and the other appointed student members of the Prefect Court conducted the ceremony. Other prefects are 12th grade-Mary Leskovec, 11th grade- Sean Brown and Emily Hennessy, 10th grade-Sam Mullany and Madison Romine, ninth grade-Carolina Leonard and Megan Kelley, eighth grade-Lucas Dumez and Harrison Wells, and seventy grade-Tyler Johnson and Bernie Cieplak.

The prefects led the students in grades four through twelve in reciting the Honor Code pledge which reads, "As a Wakefield Country Day School student, I understand that I am expected to behave with honor and honesty at all times. I pledge to abide by all the tenets of the Honor code. I shall not lie, cheat, steal, or show disrespect for the property of others; nor shall I tolerate those who do. I understand and acknowledge as just the punishments for violations against the Honor Code."

Then, as requested by the prefects, students came forward to sign their honor code pledge in groups by grade.
