Neighborhood notes: Shenandoah

Retired Teachers Association
The Shenandoah County Retired Teachers Association held a breakfast meeting on Sept. 4 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Woodstock, with 83 members and guests attending. Members brought food for Luke's Backpack and collected $295 to support the program. In addition, $273 was collected for SCRTA scholarships.

Beatrice Morris, Virginia Retired Teachers Association legislative chairpers, spoke to the group on legislative issues; Jim Bubrueler, a representative of Creekside Insurance Advisors/Central Atlantic Insurance, also spoke.

Officers for SCRTA for 2012-14 are Karen Whetzel as president, Connie Fauber as vice president, Virginia "Ginny" Stultz as secretary, Gloria Ryman as treasurer and William "Bill" Moyers as past president. Membres are retired teachers, administrators, instructional assistants, secretaries, bus drivers, custodians, nurses and other retired educators. Retirees from any school division are eligible for membership.
