Daily staff report

In response to a recent email survey, the Daily's newsroom staff offered their thoughts on which of the fall's movies would be worth their time:

Of the respondents, only news reporter Kim Walter had seen any of this fall's movies:
"While I previously didn't care about seeing the movie 'Pitch Perfect,' I'm glad my friend dragged me out to watch it last weekend. I went into the movie theater not knowing anything about it, besides that its plot touched on a capella groups in the university setting, and was supposed to be funny. Well, it was -- I was cracking up by the end of the opening scene. Sure, it had its awkwardly cheesy romance, which was predictable, but the actresses in this movie, including Brittany Snow, Anna Kendrick and up-and-comer Rebel Wilson, surprised me with their comedic timing. Basically, if you thought Bridesmaids was funny, then this movie should totally float your boat. Oh, and you should probably like music to a certain extent, too. I might not buy the DVD, but I'm definitely getting the soundtrack, because honestly a majority of the a capella covers were better than the original songs. Two aca-thumbs up! (You'll get the play on words once you see the movie.)"

Among the others, movie choices varied, but director Ben Affleck's "Argo" was the clear favorite:

"We have a 4-year-old and are tempted to go see 'Hotel Transylvania.'" -- Jeff Nations, sports editor

"'Argo' is my top choice but also 'Alex Cross,' 'Skyfall' (the new James Bond), 'Taken 2' and 'Lincoln'" -- Josette Keelor, community engagement editor

"I'm looking forward to the final 'Twilight' movie! I would also like to see 'Argo.'" -- Sally Voth, news reporter

"The movie I am most looking forward to seeing is 'Argo.' -- Brad Fauber, sports reporter

"'Lincoln' and 'Argo.'" -- Joe Beck, news reporter

"Cloud Atlas!!" -- Jeb Inge, region editor
