Colin Christensen, of Strasburg, Jessica Daddio, of Boyce, and Ashley Ebersole, of Maurertown, were added to the Emory & Henry Honors Program for the fall semester.
Benefits for the program include a $1,000 scholarship each year above any other scholarship received, placement in an honors dorm with space to converse and study, complete with computers and a library. Honors students are also able to register early for classes to ensure they get the classes they want.
Each student is also given a minimum $2,000 academic stipend to help pay for study and research-related travel. Students travel to New York during their first year to get ready for travel opportunities each year to places such as France, China, Scotland, Ireland, England, Brazil, India and Greece.
Throughout the year, honors students attend plays, concerts, operas and other cultural events.
