Town of Woodstock updates newly designed website

Woodstock's town manager, Larry D. Bradford has announced that the Town of Woodstock would release its newly designed website Thursday.

Bradford said in a press release, "Staff has been working for months to create a re-design that will be user friendly for our residents, visitors, and employees."

The Town of Woodstock contracted with Civic Plus in 2006 to design and host its first website. Civic Plus is a website company that works entirely with local governments to provide design, Web hosting and technical support.

The press release quoted Jane Beasley, enhancement coordinator, saying, "The original design was state of the art in 2006 but has become quite outdated at this time. It was definitely time to look at a new design that would allow our citizens to locate information and stimulate tourism."

The redesign was intended to better represent the town and be easier to navigate. The homepage features a rotating picture slide show, Town News Flash where important and timely news will be posted, a Spotlight section where special initiatives and events will be featured and the Town Calendar. Navigation headings will include, YOUR Government, OUR Community, DOING Business, RESIDENT Resources and a mega menu DISCOVER WOODSTOCK. The mega menu will feature resident and visitor information in an easy to locate format.

The new design can be found at www.townofwoodstockva.gov.
