Apple Blossom Princesses selected to serve
Five area women have been selected to serve as Princesses in the Court of Queen Shenandoah LXXXVIII during the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival April 24 through May 3. They are:
Ryland Adkins, is a senior at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she is studying family science. She is the daughter of Janet and David Adkins, of Ashburn, and the granddaughter of Sharon Williams-Harris and Charles Harris, of Winchester, and Mary Adkins, of St. Paul, Michigan, and the late Roger Adkins. Ryland is a graduate of Briar Woods High School.
Kathryn Bock is a freshman majoring in aerospace engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. She is the daughter of Kaye and John Bock, of Winchester, and granddaughter of Thelma Cameron, of Winchester, Sonja and James Bock, of Durham, North Carolina, and the late Hubert Stratton and Hugh Cameron. She is a graduate of John Handley High School.
Sydney Clapperton attends Clemson (South Carolina) University, where she is a freshman majoring in mathematical sciences. She is the daughter of Carrie and James Clapperton, of Winchester, and granddaughter of Myla and Claude Crawford, of Charlotte, North Carolina, Joan Clapperton, of Rochester, New York, and the late Taylor Clapperton. She is a graduate of John Handley High School.
Nicole Culbreth attends Shenandoah University, where she is a freshman majoring in musical theatre. She is the daughter of AnnaMarie and Garland Culbreth, of Winchester, and granddaughter of the late Virginia Culbreth, Garland Culbreth, Winifred Kamp and Alfred Dial. She is a graduate of Millbrook High School.
Morgan Duvall is a junior majoring in interdisciplinary liberal studies-early childhood education at James Madison University. She is the daughter of Donna and Greg Duvall, of Virginia Beach, and granddaughter of Jean Irby, of Norfolk, and Polly Duvall, of Winchester, and the late Lynwood Irby and Jack Duvall. She graduated from First Colonial High School.
The Princesses will participate in the coronation ceremony on May 1 at John Handley High School and ride on the queen’s float in the Grand Feature Parade on May 2.
