Bloom Princesses selected to serve
Five area women have been selected to serve as princesses in the Court of Queen Shenandoah LXXXVIII during the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival April 24-May 3. They are:
Tessa Climer. She attends Shenandoah University, where she is a junior majoring in mass communications. She is the daughter of Tammy and Mark Climer, of Winchester, and the granddaughter of Maryann and Al Adcock, of Annandale, Donna Story, of Griffin, Georgia, and the late Fred Climer. She is a graduate of John Handley High School.
Whitney Hicks. She attends Blue Ridge Community College in Harrisonburg, where she is a sophomore majoring in biology with concentration in pre-med. She is the daughter of Heather and Paul Hicks, of Stephens City, and the granddaughter of Tina Damron of Augusta, West Virginia, Amos Damron, of Shadyside, Maryland, Sandra Puckett, of Bradenton, Florida, Bonnie and Donald Jenkins of Stephens City, and James Hicks, of Winchester. Whitney is a graduate of Sherando High School.
Molly Mintschenko. She attends Old Dominion University in Norfolk, where she is a sophomore majoring in exercise science with concentration in physical therapy. She is the daughter of Elaine and Matt Mintschenko, of Winchester, and the granddaughter of Mary Jo and Rick Till, of Winchester, Penny and Conroy Wilson, of Stephens City, Patricia Mintschenko, of Livonia, New York, and the late Leon Mintschenko. She is a graduate of John Handley High School.
Taylor Weir. She attends James Madison University, where she is a freshman majoring in psychology. She is the daughter of Renee and Tim Weir, of Winchester, and the granddaughter of Norma and Al Johnson, of Berryville, and Helen and Edward Weir, of White Post. She is a graduate of Clarke County High School.
Allegra Zamore. She attends the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where she is a first-year student majoring in media studies with a minor in global development studies. She is the daughter of Linda Challinor and Ben Zamore, of Winchester, and the granddaughter of Ruth and Boyd Challinor of Pittsburgh, Catherine Ogg, of Ashville, North Carolina, and the late Daniel Zamore. She is a graduate of John Handley High School.
The princesses will participate in the coronation ceremony on May 1 at John Handley High School and ride on the queen’s float in the Grand Feature Parade on May 2.
