Community Note: Hospital VolunTeens
Warren Memorial Hospital is accepting applications for its VolunTeens summer program through May 15.
The program offers 14- to 17-year-old students the chance to learn skills and responsibilities in the healthcare field. VolunTeens work in many hospital departments, including the Medical/Surgical Unit, Women’s Care Center, Rehabilitation Services, Nutrition Services, Transport Services and Lynn Care Center, the hospital’s long-term nursing facility. VolunTeens must agree to contribute a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer time.
Applications are available in the guidance offices at Skyline and Warren County high schools and the hospital’s Information Desk or Volunteer Services office. Interviews with prospective VolunTeens will be scheduled by appointment May 19-20 and May 27-28.
To be eligible, new applicants must schedule and attend a 15-minute interview and orientation/training from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 22 at the hospital. Separate applications will be mailed to VolunTeens who volunteered last summer.
Further information is available by calling Melissa Boies, Director of Volunteer Services, at 540-636-0398 weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. or email email@example.com.
