For the past 15 years, Front Royal VFW Post 1860 Surgeon David Finn has arranged for the post to host patients from the Martinsburg VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia, for four Thursdays in April and four Thursdays in October.

In February, the post partnered with the Shenandoah National Park, the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program and the Martinsburg VA Medical Center to expand the program that provides activities for VA patients. The expanded program now has patients arrive at the VFW Post for a light breakfast, meet with representatives from Shenandoah National Park to receive personal passes to Skyline Drive, visit Skyline Drive and lunch with post members and volunteers.

Food for the VA patients, prepared by club manager Lesley Deavers, is made possible by patrons of the post as well as donations. V-Tabs, which supplies electronic pull tab and charitable gaming machines, contributed $1,000 to this cause.
