Motorists can expect delays on Va. 55 (John Marshall Highway) in Linden next week.
Crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation are expected to replace a bridge deck on the highway between Va. 79 (Apple Mountain Road) and Va. 638 (Freezeland Road). Workers are scheduled to close the section at 7 a.m. Monday and reopen the road around 5 p.m. June 26, weather permitting, according to information from VDOT.
Signs and message boards will direct motorists to take the following detours:
Eastbound drivers on Va. 55 turn north on Va. 79, take eastbound Interstate 66 approximately 5 miles to Exit 18 and then turn south on Va. 688 (Leeds Manor Road) in Fauquier County to return to Va. 55.
Westbound drivers turn north on Va. 688 in Fauquier County, take westbound I-66 to Exit 13 at Linden, then head south on Va. 79 to return to Va. 55.
