Lt. Jordan Highland, of Shenandoah County Fire and Rescue, was awarded this year’s Outstanding Pre-Hospital Provider Award on June 18 by the Lord Fairfax Emergency Medical Services Council.
Highland has been employed with fire and rescue since June 2009. In 2013 he completed his training at Lord Fairfax Community College, obtaining a paramedic level certification. In 2014 he completed the critical care program at the Medical College of Virginia.
In 2015 he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant, supervising fire and rescue providers assigned to the Strasburg Rescue Station.
Highland is a 2006 graduate of Central High School. He and his wife Molly live in New Market.
