The following are some of the area events that will be held this weekend:
The Town of Stanley will hold its annual homecoming today and Saturday at the Ed Good Memorial Park.
Featured each evening will be a carnival, food and live entertainment. The homecoming parade featuring the newly crowned Miss Virginia will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. An awards ceremony with fireworks will follow the parade at 9:30 p.m.
The Bishop’s Jubilee and Bluegrass Festival will be held today through Sunday at Shrine Mont in Orkney Springs.
Weekend activities begin at 3:30 p.m. and include a walk/run, family funfest and bluegrass festival featuring Many Nights Ahead and Dry Mill Road.

The James Madison University Children’s Theatre Playshop Players will present “Go, Dog. Go!” by P.D. Eastman and adapted by Allison Gregory and Steven Dietz this weekend at the Studio Theatre in Harrisonburg.
