College president to speak at World Meeting of Families
Christendom College President Dr. Timothy O’Donnell will speak during a session at the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia later this month.
The title of the session O’Donnell will speak at on Sept. 23 is “Rebuild My Church and Start from the Foundation: Living as ‘Domestic Church.” His speech will discuss the World Meeting of Families theme, “Love is the Mission: The Family Fully Alive,” according to news release.
He will lead another session on Sept. 23, titled “Ahead of Its Time: The Prophetic Character of Humanae Vitae.”
O’Donnell has been a consultor to the Holy See’s Pontifical Council for the Family since 2002, when he was appointed to it by Pope St. John Paul II. His appointment was renewed in 2009 by Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI and by Pope Francis in 2014.
Pope Francis will visit Philadelphia on Sept. 26-27, and a Papal Mass there is expected to draw 2 million people from 150 nations.
The World Meeting of Families is held every three years. It was last held in Milan, Italy, in 2012.
