A card shower is planned for Danny and Trish Sheetz, who will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 13. Cards can be sent to them c/o Old Mill Stream Resort, 1000 N. Central Ave., Lot 389, Umatilla, Florida 32784.
The Clarke County Community Band will present a free Veterans Day concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Barns of Rose Hill, 95 Chalmers Court, Berryville. Information: 540-955-2004 or www.barnsofrosehill.org.
Trinity Lutheran Church in Stephens City will host a Veteran’s Day pancake supper from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The menu will include pancakes, sausage, gravy, baked apples and a beverage. Veterans eat for free with proof of service.
The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children 4 to 9 and free for children under 3. Information: 540-869-4019.
The Giles B. Cook American Legion Post 53 will hold a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Warren County Courthouse.
The Shenandoah County Extension office in Woodstock has announced the following 4-H meetings will be held:
• 4-H/FFA livestock show and sale meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Extension office.
• Little North Mountain 4-H Shooting Education Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Liberty Baptist Church in Strasburg. Information: 459-6140.
The Woodstock Library will hold a preschool story hour at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.
The theme will be “Down on the Farm” with stories, puppets, poems, songs and crafts about farm animals. Information: Jane Miller, 459-9363.
Mount Olive Baptist Church will hold revival services with special speakers at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Information: 540-931-5242.
Shenandoah County Public Schools Special Education Advisory Committee will hold its annual Transition and Disabilities Resource Fair from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Central High School in Woodstock.
This event will host a wide variety of professionals and community members who are knowledgeable about programs and services for individuals with special needs at all stages, pre-kindergarten to adult, and all levels of disabilities.
The fair will be helpful to parents as they plan for their child’s future as well as teachers when determining resources and services to meet their students’ needs. Information: 459-6716.
