Eric Steacy, a junior at Strasburg High School and student at Lord Fairfax Community College, has been nominated by Dr. Robert Darling, medical director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists, as a delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders from June 25-27 in Boston.
He was also nominated by Isaiah Miller and received a $985 scholarship for the three-day trip.
The congress is an honors-only program for high school students who want to become physicians or go into medical research fields.
Eric’s goal, since he was in the fourth grade, is to become a pediatric neurosurgeon. He is also on the varsity academic team and serves as historian for the student council.
