United Way grants
The United Way of Northern Shenandoah Valley is accepting applications to receive its Community Impact Grant which focuses resources on the priority health and human care needs that matter most to the people in our communities.
Applicants do not have to be a United Way partner agency to apply. Applicants must, however, be nonprofit and tax exempt 501c3 organizations registered in Virginia and provide services in Winchester or Frederick, Shenandoah and Clarke counties. Applicants must have a volunteer governing board, be financially accountable and provide local health and human care services.
Program grant reviews are undertaken annually by the Fund Distribution Committee, chaired by Kurt Beyreis.
United Way funding availability will be announced shortly after the conclusion of the annual campaign, which officially wraps up Dec. 31. In 2015, $395,079 was given out to 36 local nonprofits. Results of previous grant awards can be found at www.unitedwaynsv.org.
