A card shower is planned for Wanda Bolt, who will celebrate her birthday on Jan. 2. Cards can be sent to her c/o the Lynn Care Center, Warren Memorial Hospital, 1000 N. Shenandoah Ave., Front Royal 22630.
The following Shenandoah County 4-H groups will hold meetings:
- The Toms Brook 4-H Club and Cloverbuds will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church.
- The 4-H/FFA Livestock Show and Sale open meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 6 at the County Government Center in Woodstock.
Tuesday is the deadline to register for a free conservation workshop for corn and soybean producers from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 15 at the Comfort Inn, 1872 Edwin Miller Blvd., Martinsburg, West Virginia.
The workshop is sponsored by the Eastern Panhandle Conservation District, West Virginia Conservation Agency and West Virginia University.
Farmers who have difficulty getting cover crops planted, who want to increase their yield, are committed to conservation and those who no-till farm are encouraged to attend.
