Children’s program
Handley Library will celebrate the holiday season and all things gingerbread with songs and stories at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Information: 540-662-9041.

Blood drive
The Shenandoah County Fire and Rescue Department will host a holiday blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday in the SCFR’s training room at the Shenandoah County Government Center in Woodstock.

Donors will receive a holiday shirt and those who bring a non-perishable food item for Matthew’s Food Pantry will be entered to win a $25 gift card to Sheetz.

Federal employees
Bill Shackelford, region 10 vice president of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, will install new officers at the Shenandoah County chapter’s holiday party at 11 a.m. Thursday at Denny’s in Mount Jackson.

Chapter member Dave Lewis will provide music.

Festival Guild
The Shenandoah Valley Music Festival Guild will hold a member appreciation luncheon starting at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Bryce Resort Restaurant.

Bill Vaughn and Ricky Wilkins will provide entertainment.

Christmas program
Bowman Library in Stephens City will host a holiday performance by the Apple Valley Ringers, a local hand bell group, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
