The following are some of the area events that will be held this weekend:
Bowman Library in Stephens City will hold an Ugly Festive holiday party for middle- and high-school students from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. today. Students are encouraged to wear their ugliest festive wear and bring a $5-$10 gift for a round of Thieves Christmas.
The Selah Theatre Project will present “A Seussariffic Christmas Carol,” a whimsical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas tale, at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at 30 E. 8th St., Front Royal.

Romanian-American soprano Mariana Mihai-Zoeter and Shenandoah University Conservatory musicians will present a concert of works by Mozart, Cornelius and others at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, 901 Amherst St., Winchester.

Theatre Shenandoah in Edinburg will present Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” a musical version adapted by Warner Crocker and Steve Przybylski, formerly with Middletown’s Wayside Theatre.
Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Additional performances will be held Dec. 26-27.

A weekend of comedy will be featured at the Bright Box Theater at 8 p.m. today and 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Saturday at 15 N. Loudoun St., Winchester.
Comedians Carole Montgomery, Dan Ellison and Pete Buchbauer will perform and Irwin Loring will serve as host.

The Shenandoah Valley Quilters Guild will be selling handcrafted gifts, stocking stuffers and small quilts from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday near Victoria’s Secret at the Valley Mall in Harrisonburg.
A raffle will be held for the 2016 Shenandoah Delight quilt, which will be on display. Tickets are $1 or six for $5. Proceeds will benefit the Virginia Quilt Museum and local charities. Information, tickets: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The state Arboretum at Blandy Farm in Boyce will hold an afternoon of bird-centered activities and crafts from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Parkfield Learning Center.
Learn to identify common birds, help with the farm’s count and make a bird feeder. Recommended for ages 5 to 14. Time will be spent outside so dress for the weather and bring binoculars. Information: 540-837-1758.
Long Branch, in Boyce, with the help of local garden clubs, will be decorated as homes would be in the 1920s as part of a holiday twilight tour at 5 p.m. Saturday.
“A Jazz Age Christmas” will also feature a reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Hot mulled cider and cookies will be served.

The Magic Lantern Theater and Barns of Rose Hill will host a screening of “Far From the Madding Crowd,” based on the Thomas Hardy novel, at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Barns of Rose Hill, 95 Chalmers Court, Berryville.

Sky Meadows State Park in Delaplane will hold holiday house tours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Discover how the people who called Sky Meadows “home” celebrated the holidays in the past. Tours will depart on the hour from the Carriage Barn. Admission is free. Parking ranges from $3 to $4.
The Dark Hollow Bluegrass Band will give a holiday concert at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Theatre at Washington.
