Kent D. Farmer, Rappahannock Electric Cooperative’s president and CEO, has received the 2016 J.C. Brown CEO Communication Leadership Award from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.

Farmer was honored during the January CEO Close-Up, a leadership conference for chief executives in the electric cooperative industry. The award, presented by the association’s interim-CEO Jeffrey Connor, recognizes a CEO who advances communication in the electric cooperative industry.

Farmer has been in his current role at the cooperative since 2004.

The award memorializes the late J.C. Brown, who was editor and publisher of the association’s RE Magazine.
