The Alzheimer’s Association will hold a workshop from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Samuels Library in Front Royal.
Topics include how Alzheimer’s affects the brain, causes and risk factors, how to find out if it is Alzheimer’s disease, benefits of early detection, how to address a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease, stages of the disease, treatment, hope for the future and ways the Alzheimer’s Association can help.

Belle Grove in Middletown will hold a Valentine’s Day dessert party from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday to recruit new members for its volunteer Docent Guild and Service League.
The event will include homemade desserts, tour of the manor house and an opportunity to meet staff and League members.
